The first ICIS & GOIC Middle East Surfactants Summit in Doha
10 June 2015

Reed Business Information LTD. (RBI) of the UK, the Gulf Organisation For Industrial Consulting (Goic) of Qatar and Neil A. Burns LLC of the USA have entered into an agreement to co-produce conferences and seminars in the field of surfactants in the middle east region.

The first ICIS & GOIC Middle East Surfactants Summit will be held in Doha, Qatar October 19th – 21st, 2015, under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry of Qatar. This co-operation builds on the highly successful series of surfactants conferences co-produced by Neil A Burns LLC and Reed (under the ICIS brand) in the US, Europe and Asia since 2011. Further information on the entire global surfactants series is available at www.icis-surfactants.com

The purpose of the Middle East conference is to promote the opportunities that are available in the surfactant value chain for investment and growth. Surfactants are specialty chemicals derived from both basic petrochemical and oleochemical feedstocks. They are used in household and personal cleaning products and a wide range of industrial applications including oil and gas field, agriculture, paints and coatings, lubricants, food and cosmetics. The Gulf area in particular is seen as having high potential for the manufacturing and consumption of surfactants due to the availability of key petrochemical feedstocks and a favorable economic growth climate. By bringing the established surfactant conference series to the Gulf region, the organisers expect to establish the premier forum for learning and networking across the entire surfactant value chain.

Among the companies that have participated in the Reed / Neil A Burns conferences to date are: SABIC, Farabi Petrochemicals, Sadara, BASF, P&G, Unilever, Henkel, L’Oreal, Colgate, Croda, Dow, Ecolab, Johnson &Johnson, Kao, LG, PQ, Reckitt Benckiser, Solvay, SC Johnson, Stepan, and many others.

Reed Business Information – the parent company of ICIS, the world’s largest chemical market information provider – has long had existing business delivering conferences and training courses globally in many diverse chemical areas, including the highly successful Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) forum held annually in Dubai, where they are organizing and delivery partners.
