Industrial Studies and Policies (ISP)
Program functions:
 
The Industrial Studies and Policies Program aims at developing member states’ industrial policies and setting the industrial cooperation framework between these states in the following areas:
 
Preparing economic policy-related studies in the industrial sector, specifically in the areas of industrial development, cooperation opportunities and industrial coordination and integration. In addition to that, the program studies topics submitted by GCC General Secretariat.
 
Carrying out researches and field surveys and preparing reports.

Organizing workshops about strategies and different economic principles.

Suggesting industrial policies aiming at achieving sustainable economic development in GCC countries.

Studying and following up current policies that are linked with the investment environment.

Highlighting the importance of comparative advantage in the GCC industrial sector similarly to the free zones, incubators and industrial clusters.
 
Discussing commercial integration and developing SMEs (small and medium enterprises) and PPPs (public – private partnership) in terms of infrastructure projects.
 
Monitoring and following up developments in the area of regional and international competitiveness and their effect on GCC economies.
