As part of the ongoing cooperation and coordination related to industrial development in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, the Executive Office of the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting held its first regular meeting for the year 2026 on Thursday, April 23. The meeting was conducted remotely via video conferencing.

The meeting was chaired by H.E. Iman Ahmed Al-Doseri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in the Kingdom of Bahrain and current Chair of the Executive Office of GOIC. The meeting was attended by Their Excellencies the Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Industry in the GCC countries (members of the Executive Office), as well as H.E. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Mohammed, Chief Executive Officer of GOIC.

The meeting addressed several items on the agenda, most notably briefing the Executive Office members on the official launch of the Gulf Industrial Platform (GIP), which was developed by GOIC. The platform had previously been officially launched during the Third Gulf Industrial Exhibition held in Kuwait City in October 2025. The platform focuses on GCC industrial projects and aims to strengthen the foundations of sustainable industrial development by building a unified and reliable database across various industrial sectors in GCC countries.

The members were also briefed on the approval and adoption of the “Arab Industrial Integration Strategy,” prepared by GOIC in cooperation with the Arab Industrial Development, Standardization and Mining Organization. The strategy was approved by Arab Ministers of Industry during the extraordinary general assembly meeting of AIDSMO held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on November 23, 2025.

Additionally, several other agenda items were discussed, including a proposal submitted by the Kingdom of Bahrain to develop the institutional structure of Gulf industrial work by changing the name of GOIC to “Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting and Development.” The meeting also addressed the implications of data shortages and delays in electronic integration for the Gulf Industrial Platform project.

During the meeting, the minutes of the second regular meeting of the Executive Office for 2025 were approved, along with the proposed budget of GOIC for the year 2026. The attendees also reviewed the follow-up report on the implementation of decisions from the second meeting of 2025.

Furthermore, the meeting included a review of the financial status of member states’ contributions to GOIC’s approved 2025 budget, as well as the results of monitoring the implementation of decisions issued by the Industrial Cooperation Committee, particularly those related to GOIC’s projects in collaboration with the GCC General Secretariat.

GOIC also presented a detailed report on its achievements, and as part of the latest updates, the external auditor’s report on the organization’s accounts for the year 2025 was reviewed.
