The Fourth Industrial Revolution is digitizing and vertically integrating industrial processes, from product development and purchasing, to manufacturing, logistics, and service delivery. All process data, manufacturing process efficiency, quality management, as well as process planning are available in real time for decision making, and are optimized within an integrated network of data analytics systems. As for horizontal integration, it extends beyond internal processes; From suppliers to customers and all value chain partners. It also includes all technologies ranging from tracking devices and tracking, integrated planning and implementation processes. The Fourth Industrial Revolution applications include many industrial applications and provide huge opportunities to increase customer satisfaction by simplifying operations and increasing quality. It also creates new revenue streams and helps reduce production costs.

This program provides a description of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and discusses a range of industrial applications that will be affected by it, with a focus on strategic industrial sectors in the Arab Gulf region.

Trainer

Dr. Basil Shedid holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from McMaster University, Ontario - Canada, and a Master's degree in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from Cleveland University, Ohio - USA. Dr. Shadid worked as a senior engineer at General Motors, worked as an assistant professor in the Industrial Engineering Department at King Saud University and is now an industrial investment expert at the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting.

 
At GOIC, Dr. Shedid leads a team of industry experts and researchers to identify, develop and promote a diverse and distinguished range of investment opportunities in various industrial sectors in the Gulf countries. The team's scope of work includes directing and developing the operational performance of industrial companies.
