GOIC concludes the “Production Management and Quality Control for Industrial SME” training

The training aimed at developing the skills  of the Gulf industrial workforce

The Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC), a regional organisation, concluded the “Production Management and Quality Control for Industrial SME” training held at its headquarters in Doha, Qatar. The training was attended by a number of stakeholders in the area of production and quality from Qatar’s Ministry of Energy and Industry, Oman’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE), the Middle East Propulsion Company (MEPC), Rabigh Plus Teck Park, Qatar National Import and Export Company (QNIE) and the Arabian United Float Glass Co. (UFG)


GOIC Secretary General Mr. Abdulaziz Bin Hamad Al-Ageel presented certificates to the participants and thanked them for their contributions. He reiterated GOIC’s will to continue to provide training to build the capacities of the industrial workforce in both public and private sectors of GCC countries. Mr. Al-Ageel explained that GOIC is currently putting the finishing touches to the 2016 training schedule to support the GCC industrial sector and stimulate the economy of the region.


Participants discussed the productivity elements and quality dimensions as well as several cost and waste reduction strategies. Quality control and quality improvement techniques were also reviewed with focus on their relation to productivity.


The course was delivered by Dr. Basel Shadid who introduced problem-solving tools and basic statistical concepts, process control and process capability plans, acceptance sampling, and attribute controls.
In the last quarter of 2015, GOIC will offer a number of training workshops to develop human capacities and professional skills of the industrial labour force, notably the “Methods of Collecting and Processing Industrial Data” and a free training on “The Relationship between Economic Indicators and the Industrial Sector.”


GOIC offers a number of training workshops to concerned parties according to their specific needs in various fields through the Organization’s Training and Capacity Development Program (TCD). The objective is to increase individual and organisational skills in the industrial sector of GCC countries and Yemen.
