As part of the 57th meeting of the Industrial Cooperation Committee of Their Highnesses and Excellencies the Ministers of Industry and Commerce of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States, held on Tuesday, 6 October, in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, the Gulf Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution and its digital platform were officially launched.

The launch represents one of the key achievements embodying the GCC’s vision and aspirations to strengthen industrial and economic integration and cooperation among its Member States. The Center provides a shared regional platform connecting factories, national centers, assessors, solution and technology providers, as well as industrial training and knowledge programs across the GCC countries.

The Gulf Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution is one of the GCC’s unified strategic industrial initiatives, developed and completed by the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) as part of efforts to strengthen economic and industrial integration among the GCC Member States. The Center aims to keep pace with global industrial transformations, promote the adoption of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, support digital transformation, enhance the competitiveness of the GCC industrial sector, and strengthen its capacity to benefit from advanced technologies.

The Center seeks to raise the level of digital maturity of GCC factories by assessing their capabilities, identifying priorities, and developing transformation roadmaps. It also connects factories with solution and technology providers to address industrial challenges at the GCC level, while enhancing the skills and capabilities of GCC professionals through training and capacity-building programs. In addition, the Center promotes the exchange of knowledge, expertise, guidelines, reports, and success stories among GCC Member States.

On this occasion, H.E. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Mohammed, Chief Executive Officer of the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC), affirmed that the official launch of the Gulf Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution represents an important milestone in the journey of joint GCC industrial cooperation and a shared Gulf achievement that embodies the GCC’s vision of strengthening industrial and economic integration among its Member States.

His Excellency said:

“The Gulf Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution represents a practical platform for strengthening integration among GCC Member States in the field of industrial transformation and for connecting factories with the expertise, technologies, and capabilities they need to transition towards advanced manufacturing.”

He added:

“Through the Center, we seek to make the transformation journey clearer for GCC factories, beginning with assessing their level of maturity and identifying priorities, through to identifying and finding appropriate solutions for digital transformation, building capabilities, and benefiting from successful GCC experiences.”

His Excellency also expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Member States, institutions, and technical teams for their efforts in completing the project and for their cooperation in establishing the Center and developing its platform. He emphasized the importance of continuing this cooperation during the next phase to expand the scope of the Center’s services and enhance its impact on factories and the GCC industrial sector.

His Excellency also extended his thanks and appreciation to the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council, represented by H.E. the Secretary General and his assistants, as well as Their Excellencies the members of the Executive Office, for their support of the Organization’s efforts and for the continued attention, support, and cooperation extended to GOIC in implementing its work plans and initiatives.

The Gulf Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution’s digital platform, accessible through www.goic4ir.org, provides a unified access point for Fourth Industrial Revolution services and programs across the GCC. These include digital maturity assessments and enhancement initiatives, a directory of solution and technology providers, training and capacity-building programs, as well as guidelines, reports, use cases, and industrial success stories from GCC Member States.

The Center also connects national centers, factories, assessors, and technology providers within a unified GCC ecosystem, while supporting the efforts of Member States that are developing their own national centers and initiatives in this field.

The Gulf Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution aspires to become the leading regional platform for supporting the adoption of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies and smart manufacturing and for enhancing the competitiveness of the GCC industrial sector, contributing to keeping pace with global technological developments and further strengthening industrial integration among GCC Member States.
