Held under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Qatar

It has been announced that His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, Minister of Energy & Industry for State of Qatar, will addressing the opening ceremony of the Gulf Safety Forum [GSF]. The forum will be held under the Patronage of HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the State of Qatar, in Hilton Doha on 30 & 31 October 2016.

Organised by Euro Petroleum Consultants and the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC), the high-level conference will bring together key industry players from across the region to discuss strategies for continuous improvement of safety procedures as well as share successful case studies and roadmaps towards achieving the goal of zero accidents. International safety experts and providers of safety tools and technologies will also present the latest methodologies which can assist companies to achieve these goals.

Representatives will gather from diverse industry sectors including oil, gas, petrochemicals, aluminum, transport and construction. Qatar-based Oryx GTL is included in the list of high level presenters and they view this event as very timely stating that; ‘on Thursday 25th August 2016 ORYX GTL achieved a significant milestone of five years without any recordable injury to an employee, contractor or visitor on our facilities in Doha and Ras Laffan.  Our current success is built on the dedication, commitment and contribution from our workforce throughout the organisation including the contractors who undertake specific work activities at ORYX GTL. During the event the GSF Safety Award will be presented to the company who has demonstrated the best overall achievement in HSE over the last two years. The Judging panel includes DuPont Sustainable Solutions, Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) and Texas A&M University amongst others and will celebrate the company who has found innovative ways of making lasting improvements to the safety and health of their workers, to the environment and to productivity.

Keynote Speakers include world renowned process safety expert, Dr Sam Mannan, Regents Professor and Director of the Mary Kay O'Connor Process Safety Center at Texas A&M University, as well as Dr Laurence Cusco, Head of International Unit at the UK’s Health and Safety Laboratory. Other organisations who will be presenting at the event include the Saudi Arabian Standardisation Organisation (SASO), Hamad International Airport, Oryx GTL, Qatalum, Qafac, Kuwait Oil Company, Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, Qatar Rail, Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, AspenTech, Honeywell, PTAI and Dekra Insight.
