MODON
Introduction:
In 2001, the Government of Saudi Arabia established MODON under
a Royal Decree issued specifically to create a responsible
entity for industrial cities and technology zones. MODON's role
is to establish, develop and supervise industrial cities within
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Vision:
To develop and operate fully serviced industrial cities and
technology zones across the Kingdom.
Mission:
To build, develop and operate industrial cities and technology
zones in partnership with the private sector in order to provide
comprehensive services for investors whilst developing the local
society and preserving the environment in the process.

Industrial Land Growth:
MODON has witnessed a remarkable development in the growth of
the number and area of the industrial cities. The following
table shows the periods of growth, reflecting the growing demand
of the businessmen to invest in the industrial cities that
belong to MODON:

MODON has
increased the number of industrial cities from 14 cities in 2007
to be 34 cities in 2015, and increasing the area of the
industrial land from 42.4 million square meters in 2007 to be
160 million square meters in 2015. This development made by
MODON in the establishment of new cities, expansion and
rehabilitation of existing cities to meet the growing and
expected demand on the industrial land. Within three years only,
the number of factories in the industrial cities has been
doubled in MODON. Plus, the average number of lands rented by
MODON for the industrial projects is more than 600 lots each
year, and the number is expected to reach to 1000 lots each
year, attracting the private sector to provide services and
integrated utilities using BOT system with international
standards to gain access to global competitiveness. MODON
strives to nationalize industry, attract technology and achieve
the national strategy of industry to make the industry the
strategic choice to diversify sources of income as directed by
the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

fields . Investors with MODON will have the following
incentives:
1. Rental of land for long periods starting from (1) Saudi
Riyals per square meter.
2. Integrated and sophisticated infrastructure and high-speed
networks.
3. The Possibility of obtaining financial facilities and
government loans of up to 50% of the value of the investment.
4. Supported industrial electricity tariff.
5. The possibility of providing water at a lower cost.
6. Customs exemption for machinery and raw materials used in
industry.
7. Availability of a range of governmental services, banking,
consultancy and security, residential, commercial and logistical
services.
8. Proximity to domestic and international markets.
9. Ongoing developmental projects as in some cities the
following projects are available to include district cooling,
industrial wastewater treatment plants, and reforestation
