The Industrialists’ Conference, which GOIC has initiated and organized, is held biannually, and hosted by the GCC member states alternately. It is considered as one of the most important achievements of GOIC since its inception in 1976. The Industrialists' Conference which started in Doha in 1985 has contributed to the development of the industrial progress in the member states at both private and public levels. Each conference addresses a specific topic affecting the development of industry in the region, through presentation and working papers by international experts and specialists. The recommendations of these conferences have contributed to formulation of industrial plans for the member states, particularly those pertaining to the industrial development strategy. The Industrialists’ Conference draws the attention and concern of the decision makers and officials, in addition to a broad spectrum of businessmen and industrialists. As part of the side events of the Conference, an exhibition is held to introduce Gulf industries and their achievements.
