Since its establishment in 1976, the Gulf Organization for
Industrial Consulting (GOIC) has worked to establish industrial
development in member states and to enhance industrial
cooperation and coordination.
It has contributed to supporting integration in the Gulf
industry through many studies and reports, presenting industrial
investment opportunities and joint industrial projects, and
presented the first unified strategy for industrial development
for the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf,
which strengthened general industrial policies in the region. It
also presented the Gulf industrial map that defined the
industrial sectors. . |

The establishment
of the executive office of the organization, whose
membership includes the undersecretaries of ministries and
industry bodies in the countries of the Cooperation Council
for the Arab States of the Gulf, comes to enhance the role
and importance of the organization in providing
distinguished services that keep pace with the aspirations
of member states in achieving the goals set by the agreement
establishing the organization, and the internal regulations
of the executive office have been approved. That regulates
the relationship between the executive office and the
executive body of the organization.

During the year 2020, the organization witnessed a
comprehensive development process, as the administrative
restructuring was carried out in accordance with the
recommendations approved by the Industrial Cooperation
Committee and the Executive Office, expanding the
organization’s tasks in line with developments in the
industry globally and enabling the organization to play an
influential role in accelerating the wheel of industrial
development and enhancing the permeability of industrial
exports to global markets And carrying out prospective
studies to assist the GCC countries in the transition to the
knowledge industry. We look forward to the organization
having a strategic and pivotal role in providing its
distinguished advisory services in the field of information,
studies and reports in a way that contributes to the
development of the Gulf industry in the public and private
sectors.
In light of keeping pace with developments on the
international scene through the global crisis of the Covid
19 pandemic, the organization took the initiative in the
year 2020 AD to develop a guiding guide for the procedures
required to confront the effects of the Covid 19 pandemic in
the Gulf industrial sector. And assessing the measures and
policies taken by the GCC countries to confront the health
and economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact
on the Gulf industrial sector.
The Gulf Industrial Information Platform was also
established to identify the gaps between production
capacities and demand in times of crisis, especially in
light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since we are at the beginning of the year 2021 AD, the
organization is striving to implement an effective and
ambitious plan for the member states’ projects for the year
2021 AD. This plan meets the needs in many areas such as
developing a range of industrial investment opportunities
and implementing studies for industrial sectors such as the
plastics industry, food industries, knowledge and
pharmaceutical industries, as well as the study of the
circular economy in The industrial sector and government
industrial accelerators, diversifying the structure of
industrial exports, facilitating their access to global
markets, and setting a plan to determine the needs of the
industrial sector in terms of local manpower.
There are also studies that the organization will implement
in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the
Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, where
the organization will implement a project to update the
document of the unified industrial development strategy for
the countries of the Gulf and a draft law (system) for the
unified industrial organization of the countries of the
Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf. And
cooperation in all fields that serve economic development
among the member states, taking into consideration the
directives of their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of
the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States
of the Gulf, as a guiding light for promoting joint economic
action, leading to the economic integration of the GCC
countries.
