Doha, Qatar - Gulf Organization For Industrial Consulting (GOIC) met with the team from United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), March 8th, 2023, to discuss collaboration between the two organizations.
Fatou Haidara, Managing Director of Directorate of Global Partnerships and External Relations and Director General's Special Representative for Africa, Hanan Hanzuz, Chief, and Cristiano Pasini, Director of Division of Capacity Development, Industrial Policy Advice and Statistics, represented UNIDO at the meeting. From GOIC side, Dr. Ali Al-Mulla, Director for Industrial Projects Department, Abdullah Alattar, Director of Industrial Studies and Polices, Mohammed Al-Breiki, Acting Head of Industrial Studies and Polices Department, Tala Bineid, Acting Head of Industrial Support, represented GOIC at the meeting.
The main focus of the meeting was to explore areas of collaboration between GOIC and UNIDO and to discuss how the two organizations can work together in the future. UNIDO expressed interest in matching focus areas with GOIC and invited GOIC to participate in UNIDO's Multilateral Industrial Policy Forum (MIPF).
The meeting was highly successful, with both organizations expressing a strong interest in working together. GOIC and UNIDO agreed that collaboration would be beneficial for both organizations and would help to promote industrial development in the Gulf region and beyond.
Commenting on the meeting, Dr. Ali Al-Mulla, said: "We are delighted to have had the opportunity to meet with UNIDO today and to discuss potential areas of collaboration. The meeting ended with both organizations agreeing to explore potential areas of collaboration further and to continue discussions about how they can work together to achieve their shared goals of promoting industrial development and economic growth.
