Made in Qatar
11-14 January 2009
Qatar International Exhibition Center, Doha, Qatar
Organizers: Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Qatar Ministry of Energy and Industry
GOIC presence: 18m 2 stand in central position
Participants from GOIC: Representatives from
the Industrial Support Unit (ISU) presented
the newest industrial investment profiles
developed by GOIC and Business Development
and Marketing Unit (BDM), Industrial Market
Intelligence (IMI) and Industrial Investment
Promotion (IIP) have made turns in manning the stand. Participants form all departments attended the Exhibition at a certain point in time.
Summary:
GOIC has been invited by QCCI
and the Ministry of Energy to present a set
of Manufacturing Investment Opportunities in
Qatar as part of the inauguration of the
Made in Qatar 2009 Exhibition.
The presentation of the investment opportunities was much appreciated by the
audience and all participants to the inaugural session received a copy of the profile summaries. The follow up on the requests received is currently ongoing with the Industrial Sensing Unit.
Our presence with a stand was very positive for the organization for three main reasons. First of all it provided the staff with an opportunity to liaise with the local audience (exhibitors as well as visitors of the exhibition) and receive the feedback on the spot and answer the questions and comments directly. By manning the stand with people from different departments, the exhibition provided us the opportunity to work together in the real sense of the word for marketing GOIC as a unique and multi
skilled competent organization, an example of great team work.
Last but not the least, having the stand at the exhibition has given
us the opportunity to communicate about
GOICs activities, inform the public about
the role, vision and mission of the
organization, as well as GOICs capacities, skills and potential to serve the industrial community with
the consultancy, training and capacity building services.
New leads and potential partnership opportunities provided by our presence at Made in Qatar: new IMI database subscriptions; promotion of the WISSP
2009 directly to the future exhibitors;
meetings with new technology providers;
encounter and start of relations with other
consulting agencies for a future outsourcing
possibilities, etc.
