What is GOIC’s Role?
 In summer 2005, GOIC organized a high profile conference on Future Industries with the cooperation of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). The conference became a defining moment that created a new awareness in the GCC on the critical importance of the KBIs. Since then, GOIC has taken a leading role in promoting KBI initiatives in the region. More specifically, GOIC joined forces with SRI International to set forth a KBI Roadmap of policies and programs to support the KBI development in the region.
Formerly known as the Stanford Research Institute, SRI International is a US based research organization with a global presence, dedicated to analyzing emerging technology and development trends and to generating innovation. SRI seeks to promote the creation and dissemination of scientific information, cross-border R&D activities and the commercialization of emerging technologies fostering economic development and industrial growth.
