GOIC Issues the Latest Edition
of "Gulf Statistical Profile"
Within the framework of its mandate to provide
knowledge awareness programs, and its efforts
to strengthen its informational role, the Gulf
Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC)
lately issued the new edition of its annual
series of "Gulf Statistical Profile".
This Profile is considered one of the most
important information resources in the region,
as it includes a wide and diversified range
of data as well as economic and social indicators
on GCC member states, both updated and trusted.
The new issue is designed in a new way meant
to facilitate the process of utilizing the
information inside. It also includes a large
group of tables and graphics illustrating the
industrial, economic and social developments
in GCC member states including:
- Selected economic and social indicators
on 2005.
- National accounts Statistics, which includes
11 detailed tables focused on Gross Domestic
Product (GDP), expenditure on GDP, Gross
Fixed Capital Formation, along with 6 tables
illustrating government revenue and expenditure,
commercial banks credit, and loans provided
by development banks and funds in GCC member
states.
- Foreign trade Statistics includes 10 tables
on total exports and imports of GCC member
states, classified by SITC code, counties
and countries' groups.
- Energy and industry Statistics, subdivided
into two sub-sections. One is on Energy and
contains 10 tables on oil and gas reserves,
production, exports and consumption. The
other section is on Industry and contains
21 tables extracted from the GID database
in addition to a table on water consumption
in GCC countries.
- Population and Labor force Statistics
includes 23 tables. This data depended on
census data, or estimates of central statistical
organization in each country.
- Miscellaneous social data such as communications,
health and education in GCC member states.
To issue this Profile, GOIC depended the
data available in some of its specialized databases
such as the Socio-economic Database, and Gulf
Industries Database and others. It is worth
mentioning that GOIC is continuously updating
its databases according to the data directly
received from the industrial projects, national
statistical devices or from publications in
addition to the statistical publications issued
by the United Nations as well as other regional
or local organizations.
On it turn, "Gulf Statistical Profile" attracts
great attention of officials in both the private
and public sectors, as well as experts and
researchers in the fields of industrial and
economic development in GCC member states as
it is rich, accurate and clear in terms of
data presentation.
