Vacant Positions - GOIC

GOIC is currently seeking to fill three positions to work with its team in Doha, Qatar.

1) SENIOR ECONOMIST

Duties and Accountabilities

• Report to the Director of Industrial Studies and Policies department (ISP)
• Participate in GOIC work program on industrial and trade policies and integration and collaborate with other team members.
• Provide input to other studies and reports conducted by colleagues at ISP and other units at GOIC.

Experience & Skills

• Post-graduate degree in relevant fields (economics, public policy, industrial organization)
• Relevant professional experience of minimum of 6 years.
• Knowledge of the GCC countries and Yemen conditions.
• Fluency, both written and oral, in English. Knowledge of Arabic is preferred.
• Proven track record in writing technical reports and conducting studies
• Demonstrated ability to perform effectively under pressure.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and liaise effectively, and ability to mentor, coach and motivate more junior staff.

2) DIRCTOR OF INDUSTRIAL STUDIES AND POLICIES DEPARTMENT (ISP)

Duties and Accountabilities

• Manage GOIC work program on industrial and trade policies and regional integration.
• Support the region by participating in the policy dialogue with member countries and with international and regional organizations.
• Collaborate with other departments to help achieve GOIC objectives.

Experience & Qualifications

• Post-graduate degree in relevant fields (economics, public policy, industrial organization)
• Relevant professional experience of minimum of 12 years.
• Prior work experience at the analytical and policy level as well as on operational projects.
• Knowledge of the GCC countries and Yemen conditions.
• Demonstrated ability to take leadership; strong managerial and supervisory skills; communicate ideas effectively under pressure.
• Fluency, both written and oral, in English. Knowledge of Arabic is preferred.
• Strong preference is awarded to nationals from member states.
• Proven track record in writing technical reports and conducting studies.

3) REQUIRED INTERNAL AUDITOR

(Priority to GCC Citizens)

The applicant must meet the following requirements:

1) A university degree in Business Administration or Master Degree from one of the accredited universities.
2) A certified certificate in internal auditing (CIA).
3) Good command of written and spoken Arabic and English languages.
4) Work experience not less than 10 years in this field, with at least 2 to 3 years in the same post.
5) Comprehensive knowledge of drawing up of short and long term plans for the management of activities pertaining to financial and non-financial auditing, knowledge of the development of policies, procedures and criteria of auditing, provision of professional consultation on the adherence to rules and principles of control of systems and operations to ensure appropriate carrying out of audit programs, in addition to submission of periodical reports on activities and achievements made during auditing the sections of the organization.
